For Earth Day 2018, we talk to public health expert Gulrez Shah Azhar (@gulrezdoc) about the epic heat waves that are blistering India each summer -- and how disasters linked to climate change are expected to displace millions of people worldwide, often the poorest of the poor. He discusses what's at stake, what must be done for climate refugees, and how continued polluting by rich countries is raising calls for environmental justice.

Voices from the Asian diaspora's labor movements

At the 2018 Labor Notes Conference in Chicago, many labor rights activists converged to discuss new movements, global and local, demanding justice for working people. We're bringing you voices of labor organizers and union activists campaigning to protect workers' rights amid government repression and neoliberal policies.

In addition, on the Fifth Anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse, Bangladesh-based labor activist Babul Ahkter spoke about the future of the global garment workers' movement.

Special thanks to Dissent Magazine, which aired versions of some of these interviews on the Belabored podcast.
